Experts Say We're Losing War on Terror

Nor is Mike Scheuer [see yesterday's (July 8) entry, "Worthwhile 7-Minute Listen: War on Terror"] the only expert who thinks we're "losing the war on terror."

More support for that conclusion is reported by Timothy M. Phelps, "Experts Say Terror Hit Likely in U.S.," Newsday, July 6, 2006, http://www.newsday.com/news/printedition/
stories/ny-usterr064808057jul06,0,1039570.story.
"[Of] foreign-policy experts in a new survey . . . most of them with past experience in government . . . 84 percent said that a bigger attack on the scale of 9/11 was likely in the next five years. An equal number said the United States is not winning the war on terror . . .."

This material, and more, is explored in the text and notes of Nicholas Johnson, "Perspective on Military Murder and the Mission At Hand," Iowa City Press-Citizen, July 2, 2006.
